J. Foster Flagg, Esq., Brooklyn.

Dear Sir: -

The cost of building a foundation and setting a headstone as per sketch in your letter of 24th will be $6.50, the stones to be delivered in this cemetery. If the stonecutter does not send dowells with the stone or prepare the holes to receive them, there will be an extra charge.

We build our foundations the exact size of the base stone and down to the lower edge of the grave (5' - 6"). When the foundation is larger than the stone a yellow margin of sod shows around the base.

Stones coming from New York are usually carried by the Metropolitan S. S. Co. to Boston, and from thence by Express to this place. There is no freight depot near here, so it is very much better to send direct to Boston.

I enclose you a tracing of the lot showing the location of Mrs. Flagg's grave, please mark on it the exact place on which the stone will stand, and return with your order.

The foundation will be built as soon as the order is received, and the stone set when delivered, if the weather is suitable.

Dear Sir: -

There was some delay in the delivery of the headstone for your lot on account of the notice from the Metropolitan S. S. Co. being missent, but the stone is now in place. As the charges for setting etc are all paid I send you the bill for freight and expressing direct.

Respectfully yours,

Supt.
