H.H. Wu reported that Mr. A.E. Roth, contributor said that the cost of present house would be about $4000.00 and the university would leave the land to us.

Vote to buy the house at $3000 or less 6:5 Vote not to buy the house at the present price 4000 Build new house Rest by financing with bonds in something else.

Regular Meeting Feb. 15, 1920

H.H. Wu reported that this present club-house, #4 Salvatera St, would cost at about $4000.00, this information being derived from inquiry to the university comptroller Mr. A.E. Roth.

The following resolutions were adopted.

1. Resolved that we shall not buy this house at its present price $4000.00.

2. Resolved that we would buy the house if its price can be reduced to or below $3000.00.

C.K. Chan and H.H. Wu are to go to President Wilbur to find out if substantial reduction of the price of the university could be granted to us.

In case of failure of reduction of price, the following resolutions were adopted.

1. We are going to build a new house on the campus.

2. The deficiency arising from the cost of construction shall be made good by issuing bonds or by some other financial means.

H.H. Wu's motions to have the house down in Palo Alto and to close the campaign were defeated.

Meeting adjourned at 11:00 P.M.

Nov. 6, 1920.

The regular monthly meeting was called to order at 9 P.M.

The minutes of last meeting was read and the correction of the statement of the balance of the bank on Oct. 1, to read $1449.05 instead of $1640.00.

Treasurer Young reported a balance of $4.01 from club dues and a balance of $17.44 from rent - bringing a total balance of $21.45.

President Meh reported on the article of incorporation of the Chinese Club and also of the incurring of a debt of $25.00 for the purpose of said incorporation. He also read the article of incorporation and also will see Comptroller Roth of the University to mak arrangements for the easy payment of our outstanding debt with the University.

Attention was brot concerning the Chinese Night under the auspices of the Stanford Cosmopolitan Club, in which the Chinese Club was to put [on a program characteristic of the Chinese. The Club voted in favor of the plan to have the program on Dec. 6. Several committees were appointed to have

Informal Meeting

Place:- Hing Far Low, San Francisco, Cal. Attendance:- Trustees, Alumni, Comptroller Roth and members of the club.

Business:-

1. Discussions on the means of getting money to pay the mortgage. It was decided that a campaign should be had in Stockton and any other suitable places and at any time as the Campaign Committee may decide. In case the fund thus raised is not sufficient to pay the entire sum owing to the University, the balance may be loaned through the trustees of the Club from Canton Bank, San Fransisco; in which case the financial affairs should temporarily be managed by the University until the amount loaned from the said bank is paid.

Speeches:-

1. Mr. K.T. Young spoke on his future undertakings. He said that he will soon leave for China and will teach in Canton Christian College.
