Discussion of giving a social was brought forth. Many suggestions were made. The following motion was made by Mr. Meh and seconded by Mr. Chan that :- At least one social will be given each year and additional ones during the year may be given upon passing the majority vote of the members. President Hall appointed Mr. C.K. Chan as chairman of the social committee with the privilege of selecting his own assistants.

Athletic activities were discussed and Mr. Pai is appointed, by chairman Hall to be chairman of the athletic committee with the statement that all those who enter into any kind of athletics at all, is a member of that committee.

Mr. Chang suggested that we have letter heads of the club on our stationery. It was decided that the price of engraving this be found out before any definite action will be taken on it.

It was moved and seconded that the Chinese Students' Monthly be presented to the Stanford Univ. annually.

With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:10 P.M.

Jan. 2, 1918:

At 7:10 P.M. the first business meeting of the year was called to order by Pres. J.H. Hall.

An election of new officers was held immediately. The result was as follows:

Mr. S.K. Wong, President. Mr. Y.L. Pun, Chinese Secretary and treasurer. Mr. J.G.C. Mei, English Secretary.

At 7:20 P.M. Pres. Wong took the chair. The following committees were appointed: Mr. C.K. Chan, athletic committee Mr. J.H. Hall, social committee

An informal discussion was held about our future intercollegiate athletic activities, and the next social gathering. The latter is to be held on Saturday evening, March 23, 1918.

Having no other business, Mr. W.C. Meh moved for adjournment and Mr. Hall seconded, the meeting adjourned at 7:43 P.M.

April 1st, 1918.

The first meeting of the Spring quarter was called to order by Chairman Wong at 7:15 P.M. Roll was called and every member was present. Immediately, an election of officers for the ensuing quarter took place. The following staff were elected:- Chairman - Mr. J.G.C. Mei Treasurer and Chinese secretary - Mr. W. J. Chang English Secretary - Mr. W.C. Meh

After the election, the new officers took charge of the meeting. Chairman Mei appointed Mr. S.K. Wong for the social committee and Mr. C.K. Chan for the athletic committee.

A report for the athletic committee was given by C.K. Chan, who announced that the expected basketball game with U.C. has been called off on their lack of a team.

Suggestions were made that the club should buy some kind of amusement instruments such as chess, checkers, etc. for the benefit of the club members during spare time and such should be kept as club property. No action was taken on this matter.

Having no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:35 P.M.

May 3rd, 1918.

The regular meeting was called to order by Chairman Mei at 8:20 P.M. The social committee, Mr. S.K. Wong, reported on the proposed picnic. Following, Mr. C.K. Chan reported on the athletics outlooks for the present quarter.

A motion was made and seconded that the club refund to Messrs. Wong and Mei $2.90 for carfare to Berkeley in behalf of club affairs.

The remainder of the evening was devoted to the discussion of the Japanese demands question. Chairman Mei appointed a committee, composed of Mr. S.K. Wong (Chairman), Mr. Y.L. Pun, and Mr. W.J. Chang, under the name of the "National Welfare Committee", whose duties are to survey the Japanese question carefully and devise methods to do our bit toward China. It was unanimously decided that the club would meet informally every Friday night at 8-9 P.M. for the duration of this quarter, to hear whatever report this committee has to offer and also to discuss national problems as well as to exchange knowledge. It was expressed and agreed by the members that the club should cooperate with the "Saturday club" of Berkeley in doing some publicity work among the Chinese populace in America toward the Japanese question. The "National Welfare Committee has full power to execute its [laws?] and access of the treasury also.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:40 P.M.

Oct 10, 1919

Special Meeting

The Oct. 10th celebration was observed at our house. All members gathered together and celebrated the eighth birthday of our Republic. A very elaborate program made the evening well spent and brought us right back to the very heart of China.

Chairman C.K. Chan called the special meeting at 8 p.m. and introduced the speakers. Mr. H.H. Wu spoke on the subject "Good Hope of China"; Mr. Pu Hwang gave his talk "Co-operation"; Mr. Hsu spoke on the subject "Your Duty"; and the was Mr. Meh "What can you give to our Country".

After the speaker delivered their speeches, we continued our business meeting. Invite Prof. Treat two weeks from today to discuss the Shungtung Issue.

I Club house membership fee raised from fifty cent to $1.00 per quarter, motions were made and passed.
