Oct. 10, 1920

A special meeting was called by the president to celebrate Oct. 10, our National holiday. The following members being present, Messrs. H. Wu, L.S. Hsu, Sam Chew, Chi Chen, and later after the business meeting, Mr. K.T. Young showed up.

The following were discussed:—

(1) House rules read by the president but no action was taken on them.

(2) It was decided to have no bible class as not enough members would avail themselves of such a meeting.

(3) A Free meeting hour to be held each Sunday from four to 5 P.M. to discuss current problems.

(4) A Mandarin-Cantonese exchange class was to be conducted by the members of the club from 7-8 P.M. Business meeting adjourned 9:30 P.M.

Mr. Hsu gave a fine talk on the "Economic Opportunities of China," and Mr. K.T. Young also gave a snappy talk on the "Meaning of Oct. 11 & how it was being

charge of the program.

Mr. Hsu suggested to have a show to raise money for the clubhouse but no action was taken.

Motion was passed to raise the room rent $.50 for Nov. and Dec. to cover heating purposes.

Action was also passed to the effect that rent was to be charged 1/2 of rent from 1 week to 15 days occupance of the room and full rent from 15 days on.

It was also passed to have an inspector to look around the club and see that the members observe the house rules. Mr. Hsu was given the honor of being the first inspector.

Meeting adjourned 11 P.M.

a) Appointments were made 1) K.T. Yeung as principal of night school 2) Hsu, L.S. as Duty-in charge of social relations 3) N.Y. Yue as Duty-in charge of house adornment
