Dear Sir,
I have recd a note from Wm W. Tucker in which he wishes to know for what sum the Corporation will assume the perpetual care of the Lawrence enclosure which embraces:
Lot 489 -- | 625 ft | Bort up | 2500 |
---|---|---|---|
" 490 -- | 625 | Lot 903 | 600 f. |
" 491 -- | 625 | " 1309 | 300 |
" 492 -- | 625 | 3700 f | |
2500 sf |
The Com. on Lots are getting cautious. They have signed the contract to take lot 1014 of Henry Gurney for $400, but Mr Norcross adds in final,-"Does Capt. W. understand that we take it at 400 as it is Brimstone posts & all - Please have Capt W's answer in the affirmative before settlement."
Then on Sophia Coggswell Lot 1142 - They have signed the contract for 300 -- but O.N. add a note -- "The price 300, seems very low, please call attention of Capt. W. to this before you deliver the papers or notify the parties."
I send note from Mr Austin on Cath. Peabody's lot, also note from D.J. Coburn.
Yours truly

The consequence of which is -- as lots in our Cemetery are declared in the Charter to be real estate, the lot descended to the next of kin of Thomas Jones. If he left more than one such next of kin, it would fall to them in common, and it would be proper for one of them to be designated to represent it. If the nephew alluded to was the only heir, it would be inherited by him. Mrs Jones' will cannot affect the title -- it would go as I have said. But if there are others, and they are desirous of carrying out her request, they can do so by releasing to Geo. H. Jones. I am sorry the subject was not better understood by Mrs J., but it cannot be helped now. If you desire, I will do what I can to bring about her wishes by preparing any such conveyance, if you can reach the parties.
Truly yours,
A.J. Coolidge Secretary

Dear Sir,
Please refund Cont. for Pertpetl Rep. to 2121 finally passed upon and recorded.
By one of the strange anomalies the Corporation charges you for receiving money of you, that is to say - the charge for drawing, getting execution of and recording the contract is $5. which you can remit at your convenience.
Truly yours,
A.J. Coolidge Sec.y
