Small, Referred to a Special Comtee Yesler, Clancy & Latime Committees Reports From Gas Light Comtee recommending the awarding of the following Contracts, to wit: Washington Iron Works for Lamp posts, J. Schram & co for repairs etc Referred to Judiciary Comtee From Street Comtee on the matter of Improving foot of Marion Street making the recommendations that a box drain be ordered placed therein connecting with Opera House Sewer & that Seattle Lumber & Comcial co be allowed to fill said street with sawdust. Adopted From Special Comtee recommending that the Chief of Police be instructed to remove all Chinese habitations from Clay Street. Adopted From Finance Comtee recommending that the petition of the Herald Pub Co. for reconsidering the matter of awarding the contract for City printing to the Post Intelligencer, be laid on the table. Report accepted And now the Surveyor submits the Specifications for the proposed planking of Commercial, Mill & Front Streets under ordinance No. 595, after due examination & modifications, the same are approved. Ordered that the petition of Fred Gasch et al for a Sewer in Union Street be taken from the table & referred to the Surveyor Ordered that the Council stand now adjourned Attest: E.S.
