Dear Sir,

Mr W^m M. Lathrop called in this P.M. and says he thinks he gave you an order for both posting & grading lots 3363 & 3364, Acanthus P. rear of 1833 & 1856. He talked over the size of the posts, & thinks he signed his name to the order book. -- If he is in error, please inform me, and I will have him give the proper order. -- He would like to have the grading done this season, if not too late: at all events, set the posts.

As it will probably be a day or two before the surveyors get out to you, I think it will be well for you to set as many of the posts to the lots of delinquent proprietors as possible: -- and their survey would then be the more complete. I subjoin a list of ^^all the earlier lots contained on the list shown you, remaining without bounds. --

Will you also, in compliance with the request of the Com^ee on Lots furnish me before next Monday, a list of all lots of which the bounds have been neg-- lected. The above will aid you somewhat, but I am not sure that it embraces all since 3000.

I have yet no orders for [Jus. Recd?] & al. {3419 3420 3421 3422 3423} 3496 3497 3521 3524 3529 3531 and all after 3531.

If you will complete your orders for what remains. I will endeavor to complete the deeds within a week so as to be in-- season for your [?].

I shall be able to furnish what I have on hand, as soon as I receive some items from the Surveyor & Sup^t— Please be correct in transcribing Capt. Winsor's sketches & figures.

Dear Sir,

Capt. Winsor says that you have requested him to sell two old lots belonging to the Corporation. I presume you mean those contained on your annual report nos. 567 & 592. --

Lot 567 on Indian Ridge Path belonged to Sam^l S. Curtis, which he transf^d to the Corpⁿ Nov. 1, 1853 for $100. -- The number has been applied to a lot in another part of the Cemetery & such lot has been sold. The land which is nearly identical with old 567 on Indian Ridge, as I find by plan, is shown by the record to have been sold on the 12^th of July 1864 as lot 3493 on Rosebay Av. to Mrs B.C. Clark for $360. But there are 480 feet in lot 3497 while 567 contained but 300 ft --

Lot 592 was on Mayflower Path (as then named). This ^^{with the tomb} the Corpⁿ bought June 14, 1862 of James Phalen for $215.

The land has since been graded, & if not already sold as some new lot near the junction of Ash Av. with Fountain (on Ash) very soon will be. The locality is probably ^^partly in the rear of lot 3608 cor. of Fountain & Ash, & partly covered by lot 3608 -- which was sold, to the heirs of Eli Jones for $2 per foot.

If the Horticultural Society have shared a second time without right in the sales, it is probably not worth while to disturb it now.
