To the Committee on Interments

Gentlemen,

Lewis Jones, an undertaker of this City, has repeatedly violated the 16th Art. of the By-laws requiring proper orders for interment from the proprietor, and burial permits from the city or town to be furnished prior to the interment. He has been cautioned and remonstrated with, and has more than once spoken in disrespectful terms of the requirement.

On the 8th of August last he made an interment in the lot of Thos. Lamb (591) without any order furnished - without name of person interred or any of the facts. He has been repeatedly asked to make the proper return, and has promised to do so, but has failed: & a blank line stands on the Register therefore. Last week he was notified that unless he should make this return within that week, the Secretary would represent the facts for such action as a vote of the Board ^of Trustees had authorized.

Respectfully,

A.J. Coolidge Sec.y

Dear Sir,

I am fearful that the fact you wished me to prepare affidavits of title in the case of lots 1849 & 1850 has escaped your recollection - but such is the fact, and the papers have been ready for some time. If you will please call and make oath to those, and decide what next, our work will be short.

Very truly yours

A.J. Coolidge Sec.y

Dr Peter Renton
