33 School St Boston,

Messrs Shedd & Edson

Gentlemen,

I have searched for a little plan of Mr Colburn's lot without success - but find that the lot was reported as containing 792 square feet - dimensions 24f x 33 f. the longest way southward & northward. - Please plot the same as suggested by you so as to bring it within five feet respectively of Eagle Ave. and Raven Path: and so as to show how the land to the northward between it and Magnolia Ave. lies, or will cut at.

Also please make duplicate of plan for Wm. Appleton Esq. as requested.

Truly yours

A.J. Coolidge Sec.y

Boston

Dear Sir,

Mr Shedd has mislaid the office plan of your lots - but will no doubt find it.

Meantime, if you will loan me yours, I will endeavor to push your business respecting the lots forward one stage at least.

I have requested him to make the duplicate plan for our portfolio as you state you had ordered - but which they appear to have overlooked.

Very respectfully yours

A.J. Coolidge Sec.y

To Wm Appleton Esqr

Rev. D.R. Cady, W. Cambridge,

Dear Sir,

Will you please write out on the enclosed order of interment which I return you for correction, the legal name of "Allie S. Cady", which is the only one we should use upon record. We wish to rob no one of the household name, but you will certainly perceive that great inconvenience often ensues in giving it in for record.

To illustrate - a citizen of your town lately sent in the name of "Georgie" for record: and not until the orthography had been corrected, ^to "Georgia" could we know whether the deceased was a male or female. -

Please also fill the blank for the age, and return the paper to me.

Respy yours

I am anxious to price you a deed of your lot in the Cemetery - no 3260 - I have caused the surveyors to sketch it & to go in the new laying out. Will you please call and see the plan - and that it is satisfactory.

Truly yours

Boston,

Capt. Winsor

Dear Sir,

The contents of Mr Appleton's lots, as ascertained by the surveyors, are 6.946 square feet. Mr Appleton has heretofore paid, (including the addition of 3767 feet reported by you in Octo. 1862) for 6619 ft. As he takes all the passageways into his area at 50 cts, it make therefore 327 feet which he has not yet paid for, and which I told him today I would get you to [report?] in form. I have sent a note to Mr Bond to the same effect, in case he should call to [?] for it before - you report.- I presume this also will be included in last year's report.-

Please also ^make this amendment to refs of Decr 1862, to Geo. W. Colburn's lot 3260, containing 792 ft.- instead of [24?] x 33 as before. This suits Mr Colburn & the requirements of the positions.

Dear Sir,

The collector of our Treasr brought the second bill of $89.94 to me yesterday, to inquire about the terms stated by you & in the agreement for the purchase of your old lot no. 2297 for Mrs Hemenway - and that was that all expenses were to be included in such purchase. I asked Dr Bigelow the President yesterday, if there was any such understanding with you in any conversation that he had, and he replied, "none at all.'- that he began by offering you 50 cts. a foot for your land, and finally acceded to the price you named of $25000, which is 83 cts per foot. And his statement of what your proposed to do is corroborated by my own recollection of our conversation when I paid you the $250 & took the
