I have been waiting before writing you in regard to a small lot on Willow Ave, until settling with parties who have the refusal about the shape & size of their lots.

I think there will be land enough left to lay out a small lot.

Dear Sir,

On Mr. Rayner's lot the curbing falls 2 1/4 inches to the foot on the 9 and 12 foot sides. If Mr. Rayner proposes to put in any steps with the curb on anything but the simple curbing, I would like to know about his plan before the stone is got out.

Dear Sir,

On the 5th of [July?] we rendered you a bill amtg. to $107.31 which included the care of your lot for the season of 1872 without plants. We are today informed by an outside gardener that he has the care of your lot, please write us if this is so, and also if you wish us to discontinue the care of your lot. We shall continue our care unless advised to the contrary by you and we should be pleased to have the care of your lot for 1874 upon the usual terms.

I have yours of Aug 6^th in regard to Mr Rayner's lot.

The entrance cannot well be on the lower side - it must be on the upper side or on the N side better still.

I find on looking at the lot that it cannot be graded w/ much without injury to the lots below, so you better pitch your curbing 2 1/4" to foot.
