Capt D.L. Winsor

Dear Sir,

I have recd a note from Wm W. Tucker in which he wishes to know for what sum the Corporation will assume the perpetual care of the Lawrence enclosure which embraces:

Lot 489 -- 625 ft Bort up 2500
" 490 -- 625 Lot 903 600 f.
" 491 -- 625 " 1309 300
" 492 -- 625 3700 f
2500 sf
Will you please go over the matter carefully & make up a report for Saturday, if you can. There is but one considerable monument, i.e. of excesive cost. --

The Com. on Lots are getting cautious. They have signed the contract to take lot 1014 of Henry Gurney for $400, but Mr Norcross adds in final,-"Does Capt. W. understand that we take it at 400 as it is Brimstone posts & all - Please have Capt W's answer in the affirmative before settlement."

Then on Sophia Coggswell Lot 1142 - They have signed the contract for 300 -- but O.N. add a note -- "The price 300, seems very low, please call attention of Capt. W. to this before you deliver the papers or notify the parties."

I send note from Mr Austin on Cath. Peabody's lot, also note from D.J. Coburn.

Yours truly

A.J. Coolidge

Amos Tenney Esq 37 William St. N.Y.

Dear Sir,

Last summer I wrote you requesting your attention to the removal of a body from the Receiving Tomb which you had placed there when you sold your lot -- & Mr Jackson wrote me that you were in Europe and was expected back "before the end of the year" and would then attend to it. --

Allow me to repeat our request.

Respectfully yours

A.J. Coolidge Sec.y

W.m W. Tucker

Dear Sir,

Your request to be informed for what sum the Corporation would guarantee the perpetual repair of the Lawrence enclosure consisting of lots 489, 490, 491, 492, 903, 904, 1309 and containing 3700 square feet with tomb, monuments, headstone, fence, trees &c has been laid before the proper Committee, and they have directed me to inform you that the Corporation will assume such responsibility on payment of four thousand dollars ($4,000.)

This will not of course cover future structures, as it is impossible to foresee what may be desired.

If however the parties will limit the cost of such to any particular sum, they can be covered.

Very Resp.y

A.J. Coolidge Sec.y
