"Boston, October 12^t, 1870.

"The Committee on Grounds beg leave to report that they "have attended to the various duties assigned them, and "recommend

Lot of Sarah J. Locke Sam^l S. Osgood N^os 280 & 2151 to be raised

"1^st. That the Lot of Mrs Sarah J. Locke, and the adjacent "Lot of Samuel S. Osgood be raised so as to restore the natural "drainage, the obstruction having been caused by the authority of "this Board.

Improvement of premises on Hazel=Dell amended, p. 33

"2^d. That no Tombs hereafter be erected on the Southerly "side of Hazel Dell, and that the plan presented by the Superinten"dent for grading the land on the other sides of the same be adopted, " and the same be carried out under the direction of Messrs. "Livermore and J. T. Bradlee

Receiving Tomb Report of Progress

"3^d. In regard to the new Receiving Tomb they have directed the "Superintendent to furnish an estimate of the expense of finishing "the vestibule and two compartments, and they report progress.

Edw. Palgemeyer Lot of, & premises in vicinity, proposal to improve

"4^t, In regard to the lots of Edward Palgemeyer and others "they have directed the Superintendent to furnish a prospective "plan for improving the tract of land between Lavender, Myrtle "and Hazel Paths and Chestnut Avenue. which the Committee "will at some future time lay before the Board.

Sale to the City of Cambridge of a portion Stone Meadow on Coolidge Av. recommended

"5^t. Upon the application of the Commissioners of the Cambridge "Cemetery for the purchase of a part of the Stone meadow Lot, "on Coolidge Avenue they recommend a sale to the City of Cambridge "of a strip of the said land measuring seven feet two inches on "Coolidge Avenue and thirty=one feet in the rear, containing ten "thousand four hundred and twenty square feet, at the rate of "twelve and a half cents per foot.

The regular monthly Meeting of the Trustees was held on Wednesday, November 8^t, 1871, at half past Three o'clock, P.M.

Present, Messrs J. T. Bradlee, Bigelow, N. J. Bradlee, Brewer, Choate, Lawrence, Little, Livermore, Perkins, Snow and Turner; full Board.

The record of the last meeting was read and approved.

Palm Avenue laid out & established

A verbal Report was received from the Committee on Grounds, relative to the laying out and establishment of a new Avenue between Myrtle and Lavender Paths in accordance with a plan submitted by the Superintendent, and recommending that said Avenue be laid out and established under the name of Palm Avenue.

Voted, – that the Report be accepted, and the recommendations thereof adopted.

Wistaria Path – name adopted.

A verbal Report was received from the same Committee recomending that the new Path laid out and established by vote of this Board, adopted July 12^t, 1871, leading from Fountain Avenue Easterly, and communicating with the rear of Lots on W. side of Lime Avenue be known as Wistaria Path

Voted, – that the Report be accepted, and the recommendations thereof adopted.

W^m F. Homer Comⁿ from, etc., referred to Com. on Lots

A communication from M^r W^m F. Homer in reference to his rights connected with Lot N^o 1291 Ailanthus Path, under date of October 20^t, 1871, accompanied with an explanatory letter from the Superintendent, dated Oct. 28^t, 1871, and numerous collateral documents having been laid

Reports were received from the Committee on Lots as follows; viz;

Sale to J. C. Bucknam of Lots 4215 & 4216 for cons. Tombs app^d

(a) recommending that the Board approve the sale of Lots N^os 4215 and 4216 on Hazel Dell Path to M^r John C. Bucknam for the construction of a Tomb or Tombs thereon.

Cons. of Tombs on Palm Av. & Hazel Dell Paths app^d.

(b) recommending that permission be granted by the Board for the construction of tombs on the territory situated on Palm Avenue and Hazel Dell Path, and marked "A B" on a Plan signed by the Superintendent, and approved by the Committee on Lots, dated November 1^st, 1872, – to be filed with the Plans of the Corporation

Relocation of Jacob A. Dresser's Lot, N^o 3606.

(c) recommending that the Secretary be instructed to receive from M^r Jacob A. Dresser a conveyance of Lot N^o 3606, Lavender Path sold to him September 14^t, 1865, - for the purpose of giving him a new location, and allowing the old one to be disposed of to M^r Samuel R. Payson.

Reconveyance to G. W. Blatchford Tr. of Lot 2203.

(d) recommending that the Secretary be instructed to convey to M^r George W. Blatchford, Trustee, any interest which the corporation may have acquired in Lot N^o 2203, Elm Av. (N.br.) under, or by virtue of a conveyance from said Blatchford to the Corporation, dated May 18, 1872, and entered on the records of deeds

John K. Stickney's Lots to be consolidated under one number

(e) recommending that the petition of M^r John K. Stickney for leave to consolidate under one number the two contiguous Lots owned by him on Snowdrop Path, and severally numbered 3220 and 3221, be granted.

Voted, – that the foregoing reports be accepted.
