I also enclose Shedd & Sawyer's plans of the Lots in question (bound together) with a memorandum of the conclusion; I arrived at, in looking them over with their surveyor.
In some cases no determination has yet been arrived at, as in the case of the lot on Page 28, (#2651) where the curb was within the space allowed for Passageways, also Lots #331 & #332 Alder Path (loose sheet facing Page 2) which is there explained.

Dear Sir,
Mr Henry O. How- ard, one of the heirs of the lot of late Abraham Howard 331. In the meantime, please not sell it, if you have a call for it, without letting me know.
Please attend to the enclosed note of Wm F. Matchatt.

Dear Sir,
Mr Henry G. Howard of San Francisco has arranged to sell Lot no 332 Alder Path with half of the "Howard & Merry tomb" to his uncle Geo. H. Howard of that place: and they propose to buy more land & make some improvements.
There is quite an amount of land on the rear -- perhaps 300 feet or more, of which they wish to know just how much, and the price.
There is also a piece of land between the South lot and Gardner Greenleaf's which they might desire to include. I wish therefore you would survey this including what is in the rear extending it back as far as you would the line in rear of tomb. On the plan there appears to be here about 300 feet. strong -- i.e. 10 wide, and 30 deep -- I have made a tracing from the sectional survey which I propose to send out to California to enable them to see the surroundings as far as to Poplar & Willow Avenues. If they can be induced to enlarge and fit up this, it will make quite an improvement.
Please then give me the width on the back of the two lots which you could add leaving a sufficient passageway to the lots on Willow. (By the plan there appears to be 10 ft or more), also the width & length of the strip next to Greenleaf. I should say 10 x 30.
State the price at which you would sell. --
Please reply in person on Saturday -- that will answer Mr Howard's purpose as he wishes to send to his brother by next steamer. --
Yours truly
