443 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Mar 7/84 Ordered that the Clerk be & is hereby instructed re-deliver said Roll to the City Treasurer & annex thereto the proper warrant as provided by law Ordered that the Contract for the construction of the Cistern corner Battery & 3rd Streets be & is hereby awarded to Quigley & Rosburg on their bid & on giving a satisfactory bond in the sum of $500.00 Ordered that the Council stand now adjourned until Wednesday March 12. 1884 at 7 &1/2 o'clock P.M. Attest: E. S. Osborne Approved: H. G. Struve Mar 12/84 Be it remembered that on this the 12th day of March 1884 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment The following Officers are present, towit: His Honor the Mayor H. G. Struve & Councilmen Thos. Clancy, B. F. Day, Geo. W. Harris, John Keenen, Chas McDonald, B. L. Northrup, Otto Ranke, U. M. Rasin & F. W. Wusthoff Thereupon the following proceedings are had: Petitions Rec'd From Jacob Brunn for removal of obstructions foot of University Street. Referred to Street Committee From O. A. Holm for the right to erect steps to Oriental Hotel. Referred to Street Committee From F. H. Whitworth et al for opening Pine, Hayes, Villard & Boylston Streets & Chestnut Avenue. Referred to Street Committee From G. Kellogg & Co et al for establishing Fire Department. Granted & Fire Committee instructed to confer with the Attorney & Submit an Ordinance Reports Rec'd From the Fire Warden recommending an Ordiance to prevent stove pipes in roofs. Adopted & Attorney instructed to submit the proper Ordinance.
