Suffolk ss. February 17. A.D. 1851. Then personally appeared Henry M. Parker and made oath that he would faithfully perform the duties of Secretary of the Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn. Before me, W^m. R. P. Washburn Justice of the Peace. April 11^th 1851.

Pursuant to notice issued in the usual manner the Trustees met at the office of Charles P. Curtis Esquire, Court street, Boston, at 12 o'clock noon: Present Mess^rs Bigelow, C.P. Curtis, I. Parker, Tisdale, Crockett & Dixwell - Mr Gould joined the meeting at 12.30-

the Secretary being absent, Mr Dixwell was appointed Secretary pro tempore.

Painting Fence

Mr. Tisdale was appointed a Committee with full powers to paint the iron fence on the roads, and to replace the wooden posts and rails, on the edge of the side-walk, near the gate, with iron.

Repairs on the Chapel.

Dr. Bigelow brought before the board the present condition of the Chapel, stating that it has always leaked, that the most skilful and faithful mechanics have been employed at great expense to repair the roof without remedying the difficulty; that Mess^rs Washburn, Treadwell & Standish have examined the building with him, and find great defects in it, and that he has doubts of its safety. The pinnacles are found to be hollow and admit the rain and the walls of the clere-story cracked, as if shaken by the wind, defects known from the time of its erection but compromised with the
