Dear Sir, The subject referred to in the accompanying circular is not now for the first time brought to the notice of the "Pres. & Fellows"
I find upon the records of our Board of Trustees, three years since () the following as the Report of a Comee to whom the subject was refd.
"The Committee to whom was referred the memorial of Mr Lawrence, Treasr of Harvd College, respecting the boundaries of the lot in the Cemetery belonging to that Corporation - with full power.
Reported that they had arranged with the Treasurer of the College that said lot should be surveyed, and that is should be optional with him whether the monuments now said to encroach upon the lands of this Corporation should be removed within the present bounds, or whether sufficient land should be exchanged from another part of said lot to be equivalent to the land now occupied by said monuments."
And the report was accepted - and here, it now appears, the matter ended. -

Voted that ^the President and Mr N. J. Bradlee be a Committee to wait upon Mr Folsom, and inform him of his election. _
Salary of Superintt
On motion of Mr N. J. Bradlee,
Voted that the salary of the Superintendent for the present year be at the rate of twenty five hundred dollars _ $2500. _
Surveying _
Voted that the Committee on Grounds be requested to take into consideration the subject of surveying in the Cemetery.
Contracts for Perpetl Repair of Lots 490 491 903
The Committee on Lots reported that they had contracted with Amos A. Lawrence for the perpetual care of lot numbered 490, with the heirs of Abbott Lawrence for the perpetual care of lot numbered 491 and with James Lawrence for the perpetual care of lot numbered 903, (after Expressly providing that no liability for care of or injury to monuments or headstones shall be incurred by this Corporation,) in each case for four hundred dollars. _
Voted that said contracts be ratified _

Reconveyance of Lots 903, 904 & 1309 to Corpn and new deeds to the Messrs Lawrence authorized _
An application from Dr. Wm R Lawrence received by the Committee on Lots, for a relocating by the Corporation of lot numbered 903, containing 600 square feet, belonging to Mr James Lawrence, situated in the northeasterly corner of the Lawrence enclosure on Chapel Avenue, and of lots numbered 904 belonging to Mr Amos A. Lawrence and 1309 belonging to Dr Lawrence, each containing 300 square feet, and situated in the northwesterly corner of said enclosure, so that said not No. 903 may be located in the northwest erly corner, and lots numbered 904 and 1309 in the northeasterly corner of said enclosures - was read and referred to the Committee on Lots with full power. _
Application of Wm H. Ladd for reconveyce of lot 2090 and two new lots from the land refused _
An application was received from William H. Ladd proprietor of lot numbered 2090, containing 300 square feet, one half of which is in fact owned by Mrs Martha J.M. Pearson, for leave to reconvey the same to the Corporation in order that two deeds of land containing 150 feet each might be conveyed to said Ladd and Mrs Pearson to hold in severally _ was received and considered, and it was
Voted that the petitioners have leave to withdraw.
Sec.y directed to notify Supt of the rule requiring $17 for a Grave in Public Lots.
Voted that the Secretary be directed to give notice to the Superintendent that, the fee for interments having been increased from three to five dollars, the charge for a grave in either of the Public Lots, as required by the By law, Art. 18, is seventeen dollars for the body of any person Except a child under ten

Trustees_
The regular monthly meeting of the Trustees was held at the Office of the Secretary No 39 Court Street in accordance with the tenor of the vote passed at the last meeting on the
There were present Messrs Bangs, Bigelow, Crockett, Gould, Little and Tisdale. _
The record of the last meeting was read & approved. Some informal conversation ensued in relation to the letting of a part or the whole of the Stone farm, but no action was had. _
H. M. Parker's Bill
A communication from Mr Henry M. Parker, the former Secy in reference to his claim against the Corporation for sundry services, accompanied by his bill, was laid before the Trustees by the Pres. Dr Bigelow. __

After some discussion thereon, it was _ Voted _ to refer to bill of Mr Parker to Messrs Little & Gould, with full power to effect a settlement.
Privy _ Committee to cause erection of
The Subject of having a privy in Mt. Auburn for the accommodation of visitors was introduced by Mr Tisdale & urged as of great importance: & it was Voted_ that Messrs Tisdale and Bangs be a Committee to cause the erection of a privy in the Cemetery of Mount Auburn for the use of visitors only: (Dr. Bigelow desiring that his vote might be recorded in the negative.)
