To the Honorable Mayor of Common Council fo the City of Seattle: GENTLEMEN: Your Committee on Fire & water to whom was referred a petition of H. Jones asking the City to purchase of him a certain portion of his water system mainly 322 ft of 1 1/2 in pipe on Yesler Avenue beg to report that this size of pipe would be of little use to the City as a part of its permanent water system, and that the purchase of this pipe from Mr. Jones would tend to establish a bad precedent in the city's relations with owners of water plants in the city. We therefore recommend that this petition be rejected. D.E. Durie chairman F.A. Twichill Comm Jan 24, 1890 T.E. Jones
