am at 9 weighed & steered for the river under all plain sail at Noon grounded on the bar. at 9.30 The ship floated made sail & steered for the anchorage at 10.30 shortened sail & anchored in 5 fms [fathoms] sheered to 30 fms [fathoms] the Lighthouse bearing E by N
March 6th
am Sent the sick coolies to the hospital & landed 175 of those in health & sent 19 of the crew to hospital sick with fever. two of whom died afterwards Jas. Dunn, Baker & Chas. Branch Midshipman's servant
March 11th
Moved the ship a little higher up the river & moored with 30 fms [fathoms] each way.
