A petition is received from the Trustees of the M E Church asking for the refunding of $10.00 license collected from Miss A R Luce Said petition is granted and it is ordered that a warrant for $10.00 be drawn on the City fund in favor of Chas K Jenner The Street Committee report on the petitionof the Sisters of Charity praying for the vacation of the alley in Block 18 in Borens addition to Seattle. Ordered that said petition be granted and said alley be and hereby is declared vacated. 117 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Sept1/82 From Fire and Water, on petition of W H White et al for the purchase of 20x60 feet off West End of Lot 2 Block 5 of Boren's Plat for our Engine House, recommending the purchase of 25 by 60 feet of West end of said Lot. From Fire and Water showing that $3.75 had been paid into treasury for changes on freight landed at City Inclines & recommending the regulation of rates for landing property on City Inclines. Referred to the City Attorney with instructions to recommend such action as he may be advised for the best interests of the City. From License and Revenue on application of Robert Hahn for a Grocery License, recommending the rejection of said application. Adopted & License refused. 119 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Sept 1/82 purchasing 25 by 60 feet off the West side of Lot 2 Block 5 in Boren's plat, thereupon the Report of the Committee on Fire and Water recommending such purchase is adopted upon the following vote to wit: In favor of adoptioin Collins, Cosper, Gasch, McDonald and Manning Against adoption Clancy and Rasin Ordered that the said Report of the Committee on Fire and Water be & is hereby referred to the Committee on Judiciary with instructions to submit an Ordinance on providing for the purchase of said property. the vote on said order is as follows: In Favor of said order, Collins, Cosper, Gasch, McDonald & [Manning]], Against said order, Clancy and Rasin. And now in pursuance of Ordinance No 284 the Council proceeds to examine & equalize the assessment roll for the Front Street Grade provided by said ordinance & to hear all Complaints touching said Roll; pending which the matter of such consideration is laid over until Monday evening September 4th at 7&12 o'clock PM And now in pursuance of Ordinance No 288 the Council proceeds to examine & equalize the assessment roll for the 2nd, 3rd & other Streets Grades provided by said Ordinance & to hear all Complaints touching said rolls, pending which the matter of such consideration is laid over until Monday September 4th 1882 at 7&1/2 o'clock PM And now in pursuance of Ordinance No 289 the Council proceeds to examine & equalize the assessment roll for the Union Street grade provided by said Ordinance & to hear all Compliants touching said Roll; pending which the matter of such consideration is laid over until Monday September 4th 1882 at 7&1/2 o' clock PM And now Council proceeds to open the bids for Stationary received by the Clerk pursuant to notes duly published, which bids are in the sums to wit: Daniel & Woodruff $65.35; Pumphrey & Lowman $61.16, And now the Council proceeds to open the bids for job printing received by the Clerk pursuant to notes duly published which bids are from C Hanford & Co, and Stewart & Ebersold

217 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Mar 2/83 Hendrickson & Regan per M B M[thousand board feet] $15.90 D S Hill $16.50 And now it appearing to the Council that the bid of Hendrickson & Regan is thelowest and best bid; and that they are the lowest responsible bidders.
