41 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE the assesment required by said Ordinance No 257 & filed with the City Clerk on the 20th day of February 1882; and the Council have heard all complaints touching said assessment and having made corrections therein & the Council finding such roll as corrected in accordance with law. It is ordered that such roll be and the same is approved and is hereby declared to be the assessment roll for such special district under said ordinance. And now the Oregon and Trans Continental Railroad Company & the Columbia and Puget Sound Railroad Company submit an ordinance for adoption granting said companies certain rights along the waterfront: Thereupon said ordinance is referred to the Ordinance Committee with instructions to report thereon at next meeting. The matter of certain complaints in reference to lighting the street lamps is hereby refered to the Gas Committee. Ordered that the matter of landing brick upon the City landing places be referred to the Fire Committee Ordered that a Warrant be drawn in favor of Chas McDonald in the sum of $10.00 on the Fire Fund with which to purchase coal. Ordered that the Council stand adjourned until Tuesday Evening March 7th 1882 Attest:E S Osborne Clerk Approved: L P Smith Mayor Be it remembered that on this the 7th day of March 1882 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment. The following Officers are present, to wit: His Honor the Mayor L.P Smith and Councilmen Thomas Clancy, John Collins, Wm A. Jennings, John Keenan, Moses Keezer and Chas McDonald. The following Officers are present to wit: His onor the mayor H G Struve and Councilmen Thomas Clancy, B F Day, Geo W Harris & U M Rasin Thereupon the following porceedings are had: And now the Council proceeds to consider an Ordinance entitles "To amend Section One (1) of ORdinance No 262 entitled An Ordinance granting the right to the Oregon and Trans Continental Railroad Company and the Columbia and Puget Sound Railroad Company and to authorize said Companies to construct maintain and operate a single of double track railroad along the Water front of the City of Seattle" After due consideration said ordinance is adopted upon the following vote to wit: In favor of adoption Clancy, Day Harris & Rasin. Against adoption none. Claims Paid South 3rd Street Improvement #399 G N Alexander Contract Work Nos 566 to 571 $2800.25 An Ordinance is submitted entitled "A special Ordinance appropriating money to pay audited bills" Adopted upon the following vote, to wit: In favor of adoption Clancy, Day, Harris & Rasin.
