To the Mayor and City Council of the City of Seattle Greeting: Whereas there is now being printed and circulated in this city an certain paper known and designated as the Sunday Breeze Mercury, and also a certain other paper known and designated as the Sunday Sun: and Whereas, these papers do smirch the character of our citizens and corrupt the moral of our youth; and Whereas certain of our sister cities, deeming such publications unfit to be read by their citizens, have prohibited their circulation within the corporate limits of such cities; Therefore, we, the undrsigned, most respectfully petition your Honorable Sir and Body to take such action as will effectulally stop the publication and distribution of said papers in our own fair city. Seattle W T May 2nd 1889 To the Honorable E W Ferris City Clerk of the City of Seattle Sir: In compliance with the requirments of section eleven (11) of ordinance number one thousand and seven (No 1007) it becomes my duty to notify you as follows: That Washington Engine Company No 2, of the Seattle Fire Department, held its regular annual meeting for the year 1889 in the City Council Chambers on Wednesday evening the First day of May 1889 and in pursuance with the general custom of said company the following offices were duly elected for the ensuing year. King County Washington Office of Richard Osborne Judge & Probate Seattle Sept 12, 1890 To the Hon. City Counsel of Seattle County of King State of Washington The undersigned petitioner earnestly request your honorable body to extend the Water Main from Virginia to Leonora on 8th St in the City of Seattle. as there is at least 50 families that has no water and for Fire Protection and there is no Hydrant nearer that Pine and 9th St and that so a Hydrant be palces on Leonora and 8th St and your petitioner humbly prays that they will be done as speedily as possible as there is great need of water in the district.
