Sir
I have the honor to make application for reappointment in the Queensland Police Service. Should a vacancy occur I beg that my former Service may be taken into Consideration as a recommendation for reappointment.
I have served (4) years in the Native Mounted Police in this District & having received an appointment in May /84 as Cadet ; and received promotion to the rank of 2nd. C. Sub Inspr. within twele months ; holding this appointment to the Satisfaction of my Superior Officers for three years, until 23rd. June 1888, when in consequence of urgent private affairs, which I believed necessitated a trip to England, and being unable to obtain leave of absence, I reluctantly proffered my resignation which was accepted on 23rd June /88.
Trusting that my Application may receive favourable notice
I have the honor to be Sir Your obedient Servant [signed] Rowland W. Garraway
