Dear Sir

Your note of 19th is received. The following amounts have been expended upon lot #3986.

Purchase of land $640.00
Foundations, grading & sodding and setting curb 107.82
Annual care^$10 and top dressing^$3 1870 13.00
Annual care 1871 10.00
It is rather a hard matter to estimate the price found for the curbing - As things were at the time it was put in it may have cost $120000/100 or 130000/100

Dear Sir

I have examined your lot #3986. I find that it needs grading and sodding badly. The cost would be $35. The granite is also very much out of place to reset and relead that and secure it with clamps as it ought to be would cost $25.

The gardener thinks a cut leaved maple or double flowering horse chestnut tree would be suitable, the maple being best as the chestnut will stain the stone near it. Either of them about 12 ft high will cost you $8, we to replace it if it fails to grow.

Very respectfully James W Lovering pr J.C.S. Supt
