Saml. Atherton Esq

Dear Sir

I will sell you an addition to your lot of three (3) feet in width on each side.

The lot being twenty five feet deep, this will make an addition of seventy five feet on each side or one hundred and fifty (150 ft) in all. The price will be $150 per square foot.

The enclosed sketch shows the proposed addition in red lines.

Dear Sir

I send you tracings of Mr Atherton’s lot # 1725. The figures in black show the distance from his line to the inside of the adjoining lots, and the figures in red to the outside, so that if he took all the land between the Lawrence lot and #1853 he would get 400/100 feet & 500/100 feet equal to 970/100 from the back, and 400/100 ft & 500/100 feet equal 900/100 on the front, which would make an addition of 246 square feet. The price of additions on avenues has been not less than $150 per foot which is the price which I wrote to Mr Atherton about a year ago.

Mr Lawrence said he was cutting the shade tree up to his curbs. I suppose if he wants all on the side next to #18[?], that the owner of [1853?] ought to be consulted.

Saml Atherton Esq

Dear Sir

Your lot when graded will be (18) eighteen inches above the avenue so that the steps will want to be cut for this rise.

The distance from the avenue line to the lot line is six and one half feet (6ft 6in) and this would be the length of stone buttresses & posts at each side of the steps.
