Treasurer's Reports for quarter ending March 31, 1873.

The Treasurer's Report of Receipts and expenditures for the quarter ending March 31, 1873, also his Report of Amounts due and unpaid for the same quarter having been submitted to the Board, it was

Voted, – that the Reports of the Treasurer be referred to the Committee on Finance.

The following papers were submitted to the Board by the President

Dr. Bigelow: Com^ee from

(a) A communication from Dr. Bigelow dated March 22^d, 1873, in reference to certain "constructions" belonging to the Cemetery "which may be likely hereafter to require repairs or alterations and which may sometimes be difficult to find."

Fire Extinguisher purchase of recommended (b) A communication from the out=going Superintendent dated April 8, 1873, ^^{with accompanying papers} recommending the purchase of Fire Extinguishers for the protection of certain buildings named.

Ground near Central &c. Ave^s work on rec^d

(c) A communication from the same, of even date, in reference to certain work requiring attention on a piece of ground situated between Central, Garden, Yew and Fountain Avenues.

Voted, – that the aforesaid communications be referred to the Committee on Grounds.

John W. Colman proposal from to sell Lot 1114 to corpⁿ.

A verbal communication was made to the Board by the President in regard to a request received from M^r John W. Colman, proprietor of Lot N^o 1114 on Central Avenue that the corporation would purchase a portion of said Lot. [It appears from the Treasurer's Books that said Lot is indebted to the corpⁿ

in the sum of $84.70]

Catalogue & Map of 1867. Issue of new map recommended.

The President also submitted a written communication from the Superintendent dated April 8, 1873, covering statements of the cost of the Catalogue and Map of 1867, and recommending the preparation and issue of a revised and corrected Edition of the Map.

Voted, – that the request of M^r Colman and the aforesaid communication of the Superintendent be referred to the Committee on Lots

Mt Auburn Guides: supply of in hands of gate=keeper.

The President also submitted a written communication from the Superintendent, dated April 9, 1873, with accompanying papers, touching the maintenance of the supply of "Mount Auburn Guides" in the hands of the gate=keeper for sale to visitors.

Voted, – that the said communication be referred to the Committee on Finance

Monthly Schedule of Bills referred to President

A file of Bills, with accompanying schedule, having been submitted to the Board by the Treasurer, in compliance with the requirements of the By=Laws, and the schedule having been read by the President, it was

Voted, – that said bills be referred to the President for his approval, and payment by the Treasurer if found correct.

W. W. Blackmar App of for leave to remove remains from Lot 2017 New facts elicited

M^r Choate, in behalf of the Committee on Interments having laid before the Board certain facts which had been brought to the attention of the Committee with reference to M^r Blackmar's application for leave to remove certain bodies from Lot N^o 2017, subsequent to the Report of the Committee on his application made at the last meeting

September 18^t, 1872, have instructed the Superintendent to discontinue the said system.

Voted, – that the above action of the Committee on Grounds be approved.

John W. Colman's Petition to have Corpⁿ buy Lot. "No action needed" A Report was received from the Committee on Lots, – to whom was referred at the last meeting the request of M^r John W. Colman proprietor of Lot N^o 1114, Central Avenue, that the corporation would purchase a portion of said Lot, – stating that no further action was requisite, the Lot in question having been sold by M^r Colman to M^r Jos. S. Bibrim.

Voted, – that the Report of the Committee be accepted.

W. W. Blackmar Appⁿ of for leave to remove remains from Lot 2017, Report of Com. on Interments

In response to the vote adopted at the last meeting of the Board, the Committee on Interments submitted a Report in writing, with papers accompanying the same, with reference to the application of M^r Blackmar for leave to remove certain remains from Lot 2017 to Cedar Grove Cemetery, stating their action in the case, and recommending that their Report "be Entered upon the records, and with the papers annexed be placed on file, with the order for removal, upon its return to the Secretary's office."

Accepted & ordered to be recorded

Voted, – that the above Report be accepted and Entered upon the record, and the papers stated placed on file.
