Dear Sir

Mr. Cha.^s S. Bates (for the heirs of Martin Bates) wishes to buy all the land up to your boundary post in rear of your lot, to be used for ornamental purposes.

It is customary to offer the land so intended to the adjacent lot holder before selling to others though in this particular case I think Mr. Bates would be somewhat disappointed if he failed to obtain the Land.

Please advise me immediately.

Your favor of the 26^th rec'd. I have made the corrections on the plan which should as you supposed show 1/2" on each side.

The right have side of face will be the same as the left except that the face to be rubbed is reversed.

Dear Sir

You have the first choice of the land adjacent to your lot. If you do not wish to buy then I can sell to the first buyer. The price of land for ornamental purposes is $6.50 per sq.foot.

There ^^are about 60 sq.ft. of land that Mr. Bates wants.

Mr. Mr. Bates has also first choice to land (^^{a portion of} the same piece) adjacent to his lot.

What I wish to know is this - Do you want to buy the adjacent piece at $6.50 per sq.ft. or not.

The answer at your earliest convenience will oblige yours.
