A very colde windy day. Jim plowed. Ben cleaned up on the branch. Mr Owen staid at home. He has a new baby born this morning at three oclock.

Betty Davis washed here today. Josie got dinner. She cooked beans and baked coconut pies. I did not do much of any thing.

Josie went to Renan this evening. Carried some eggs and bought a few things. Kate Harvey come a few minutes this evening. I walked with her as far Marvins. Carries baby was not well. Hope she may soon be well.

A good day and very cool for May. The men folks replanted their corn. Mr Owen planted some beans.

Dr Wigginton was here today to see Franklin. Said he did not have diptheria He is much better off than he was last night I think. This evening I went to Marvins. Murphist Harvey was there. He hung their screen doors to day.

A good day. The men folks all plowed. Josie got dinner. She cooked snaps and cymblins and potatoes and beets and baked apples. This evening I went with Gladdis and Hugh and Aubry Brumfield fishing. We caught a lot of little fish.

I come by Blairs. The men folks was stackin hay & oats. Several of the people a round went to Gretna & Altavista and some to South Boston.

Jim planted some corn & beans this evening.

A good day. Jim suckered tobacco all day. Ben carried Josie & Franklin & Mary B to Jim Powers. They spent the day. He brough them home to night. Fanny Power come with them. John & his children went to Marvins this evening and from there to Johnson Reynolds. Edna went with them. Christenia Reynols & Ruth Barker come here a while this evening.

Virginia Harvey & Hellen Brumfield come to night. Mr Smith brought them on a car.

I gathered a few beans this evening & killed two chickens for breakfast in the morning.

A good day. Jim worked on the tobacco most of the day. Ben staid at Renan all day as one of the judges of the election. He has just come home.

Mary & Fanny has gone to Lee Brumfields and Edwin went two. They will come home to night.

Josie got dinner. Mary & Fannie washed dishes after dinner. I picked a few beans and cut a few cucumbers and gathered some tomatoes. Then I went to Marvins a few minutes. Carrie was fixin tomatoes to can. I helped her peel some tomatoes.
