Dear Sir

Your favor of yesterday is received. I have looked at lot 1052 Chestnut Ave and find that there is hardly an inch of loam on the lot.

I can see no objection to raising the grade say 10 inches, there ought to be as much as 10 inches of loam under the sod.

I will fill in 10 inches good loam and sod with good sod and leave in good order for $60.⁰⁰ and will give you the benefit of any reduction there may be in the cost of work.

The cost of a foundation expends on the size of the base stone and not on size of headstone. A foundation for a Stone when the base 2 ft long & 1 ft wide would cost about $4.⁰⁰; other sizes on the same scale. I enclose blank order for are &c which please fill as suits you & return to
