Rate of fare in Horse - Cars to Cemetery _ refd to Comee

The President stated that complaint had been made that a higher rate of fare in the Cambridge Horse-Cars had been charged to proprietors and other persons riding to Mount Auburn than on other parts of the road. _

It was therefore voted _

That the subject of said complaint be referred to Messrs Little and Cheever to report thereon. _

Complaint of John Harrington _

A communication from John Harrington, marble worker, addressed to the Treasurer, complaining of an overcharge by the Superintendent, on a bill rendered him for work done by the Corporation, was read by the Treasurer, and it was

Voted that the same be referred to the Committee on Lots. _

Finance Comee authorized to allow Treasr compensation for additional work _

The Treasurer stated that he had been compelled, for the greater convenience and security of the Corporation, to adopt a new system of keeping the books, and that the charge had involved him in considerable extra expense, for which he asked compensation.

Amendts to By-laws _

On motion by Mr Norcross,

Voted that the amendments, to the By-laws proposed at the last meeting be adopted _ viz.

In line 3d of Art. 20, to substitute for the words "twelve dollars each, together with" _ the words _ "twentyfive dollars each besides." _

and In line 2d of Art. 23, to substitute for the word "twenty" the words "twenty five", and in line 5, for the word "fourteen" the word "seventeen" _

Protest from John H. Jenks _ vs. Interment of M.B. Markham in Lot 3276 _ ordered to be placed on file _

A communication from John H. Jenks, protesting against the interment of the body of Mark B. Markham in lot numbered 3276, adjoining that of said Jenks, was read _

and it was

Voted that the communication of Mr Jenks be placed on file. _

Proposed Gift of Swans to the Corporation _

A communication was received from A. Winthrop Hastings, proposing in behalf of the Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati, O. to present to this Corporation a pair of "American Trumpeter Swans _" to be removed from Cincinnati at the time and in the manner designated by this Board. _

Voted that the communication be referred to the Committee on Grounds.

Complt of John Harrington withdrawn _

Mr Austin for the Com. on Lots reported that the complaint of John Harrington, refd at the last meeting [tosd?] Comee had been withdrawn, and Complainant expressed sat-isfaction
