Joseph Collins Esq Gardener

Dear Sir

On Saturday the Spring pay will commence at the following rates.

Patsk Curtin 2.12 1/2 Friday
John McDonald 1.93 3/4
Wm Collins (teamster) 1.50
John McGinnis 1.85 $1.75
James Conners 1.85 $1.75
The men at the greenhouses will share such Sunday work as is actually necessary without extra pay. P. Curtin, J McDonald, & Wm Collins (teamster) will be paid for all days except Sunday when present , wet or dry. None of the other men will be paid except for such days as are sufficiently dry to work both men & horses, when they are present. I have directed Mr McArthur when it is too stormy for the men to continue working to ring the bell & have the men stop, and that when too stormy to work he will not take them on in the morning or at noon. & I wish to prevent any misunderstanding or confusion yours should stop work whenever his do. Please return the time of any man taken by Mr Barker in case of need on your weekly sheet, with his name.

Yrs truly J.W. Lovering Supt.
