224 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE Jul 1 1887 Seventh Street Assessment Roll Pursuant to law and published notice the Council now proceeds to examine and equalize the assessment roll of the assessment district created by Ordinance No 829 for the grading of Seventh Street from Madison Street to Battery Street and the buildings of sidewalks on both sides of said street. After due examination the said assessment roll is on motion approved. Bids For Grading Fourth Street Bids for grading Fourth Street from UnionStreet to Bell Street are opened and read as follows: Michael O'Day & J A Anderson. Clearing and Grubbing $80.00 Grading Fourth Street from Union to Bell, Clearing per acre $30.00. Grading per cubic yard 30&1/2 cents. Bid of White, Quigley & Gage. Earthwork per cubic yard 33 cents Sidewalks per M[thousand] B M[thousand] $14.00, Box drains per M[thousand] B M[thousand] $15.00 Grubbing & Clearing per acre $100.00 Bid of W E Wilson. Earthwork per cubic yard 39 cents Sidewalks per M[thousand] B M[thousand] $15.00, Box drains per M[thousand] B M[thousand] $15.00 Grubbing & Clearing per acre $90.00 It appearing that the bid of White, Quigley & Gage is the lowest, Motion of Councilman Reitze the contract is awarded to said White, Quigley & Gage and the City Attorney directed to draw the usual contract and the contractors furnish a bond in the sum of $2000.00 On motion that the Blocks 26 & 31 Correction Plat of D L Dennys's addition nto North Seattle is apporved. Ordered that Watson Allen be appointed Judge of election in the First Ward, vice W V Rinehart declines to serve.
