Trustees _ _

The monthly meeting of the Trustees was held on _

There were present Messrs Austin, Bigelow, Cheever, Crocker, Nazro, Rand, Sleeper and Tobey.

The record of the last meeting was read. _

Lot 592 and Tomb purchased by the Corporation _

On motion by Mr Cheever,

Voted that the recent purchase by the Superintendent of the lot and tomb No. 592, situated on what was formerly known as Mayflower Path, be hereby ratifid _

Mr Rand was excused from further attendance.

Proposed Amendt of by-law as to Military Funerals laid on table _

On motion of Mr Austin,

Voted that the proposal amendment of the bylaws relating to military funerals be laid upon the table.

Appropriation for new-Tombs refd to meeting in Novr next _

Upon motion by Mr Nazro,

Voted that the motion providing an appropriation for completing the new tombs on Auburn Lake which was submitted at the last meeting, be referred to the meeting of the Trustees in November next. _

Bill of G. S. Hillard, Auditor in Mann's case, refd to Com. on Prosecution _

The bill of Mr G. S. Hillard, Auditor in the case of the Corporation vs Jona. Mann was presented. _

Upon motion by Mr Crocker,

Voted that the same be referred to the Committee of prosecution, to report thereon. _

Trustees _ .

The monthly meeting of the Trustees was held on _

There were present Messrs Austin, Bigelow, Cheever, Curtis, Little, Nazro, Rand and Read. _

The record of the last meeting was read. _

Edw. Austin's application _

Mr Austin stated that, by a recent survey of his lot, it had been ascertained that the late Superintendent, Mr Mann, had enclosed within the granite curb ninety two square feet more than the 800 feet which he held by his deeds _ that as this surplus was not needed by him, and was enclosed without his knowledge or consent, he ought not to be held to pay for it.

Upon motion of Mr Cheever,

Voted that the matter be referred to the Committee on Lots with full power. _

Auditor's fees in suit vs J. Mann

Upon motion by Mr Curtis,

Voted that the fees of Geo. S. Hillard Esq, for auditing in the case of this Corporation vs J. Mann, which amount to six hundred dollars, be paid.

Report of Comee on Prosecution _ and

Mr Curtis for the Committee to prosecute the claim of the Corporation vs J. Mann, reported that they had obtained an award from the Auditor against Mann of two thousand and ninety dollars and eight cents ($2.090.08) as the balance now due from him.

Instruction of Comee _

Upon motion by Mr Read,

Voted that the Committee be instructed not to appeal from Mr Hillard's award. _

The President, for the Comee on Grounds, again introduced the subject of erecting a flight of steps down the Northerly side of the Tower Hill. _

Stone Steps from Mountain Ave to Consecration Dell _

Upon motion of Mr Curtis,

Voted that the Committee on Grounds be requested to submit, at the next meeting of the Board, a plan for erecting a flight of stone steps from Mountain Avenue down northwardly to Consecration Dell, accompanied with an estimate from some responsible person who will contract for the same at the estimated price _

New form of Blank Deeds ordered _

The Secretary stated that there is occasion for printing an additional number of blank deeds for record, and that experience had shown the need of greater definiteness in the descriptive part, _

Upon motion of Mr Curtis,

Voted that the subject be referred to the Committee on on Lots with power to prepare a new form of deed with such amendments as may be needed. _

Lot 1172 Rep. appointed _

Upon petition of the devisees under the will of John H. Pearson, late proprietor of lot numbered 1172, deceased, Charles L. Pearson, of Boston, the youngest son & sole trustee under said will was designated to represent said lot. _
