At 1 o'clock this afternoon
an additional .82 inches of
rainfall was recorded at
the Earlington Weather bureau
station. Record rainfall in
Hopkins County, which reached
an official total of 9.1 inches as
recorded at the United States
Weather bureau station in
Earlington early today tied
up railroad, bus, truck and
passenger car traffic, washed
away wheat and corn, flooded
dwelling houses and stores.
The 9.1 figure brought this
year's total rainfall to 41.13.
The average is 40 inches.
