AUGUST 1

1931. I cleaned up the house today. Cosby sent a letter by Wiley Thompson stating that his father died this morning about 8:30 o'clock.

1932. I embroidered some today. Mrs. Conley came a while this morning.

1933. I ironed some today. Uncle Brock came today & will stay several days with us. Sis went to church tonight.

1934. It rained today & we didn't get to wash as we had intended to. Mother & I went to see Uncle Brack this afternoon. Mother, Dad & I went to church tonight.

1935. I pealed & canned 2 1/2 gallons of peaches today & did the general house work. Rex & I started to church at Liberty tonight but had a flat tire so we didn't get to go. Sis & I cut off some apples to dry late this afternoon.

AUGUST 2

1931. I have been disappointed today because I didn't get to go to Mr. Jenkin's funeral. Cousin Lenora, cousin Lonnie, Turner & Mrs. Hewlett came this afternoon.

1932. I embroidered some today. Mother, Dad & I gathered some beans this afternoon. It rained late this afternoon and also tonight.

1933. I finished my ironing today. Uncle Brock, Sis and I started to take a drive this afternoon but we got stuck up in the mud so we didn't get to go very far.

1934. Mother & I washed a few pieces this morning. I wrote a letter to Rex today. Mother & I went to Uncle Brock's a little while this afternoon. I played several games of solitary today. Mother played several games also.

1935. I finished ironing, got dinner & washed a few pieces. Cousin Will Wilson came this afternoon. Sis took Mr. Slaton to town late this afternoon & he will spend the night. I went to church at Liberty tonight.
