Wind. N.W. Clear. Ther. 12o
FRI. DEC. 25th, 1896.

An ideal Christmas day,
clear bright & frosty. Willie
& Fanny came to dine with us.
it was too cold to bring the baby
which will only be 5 weeks old
tomorrow & has not yet been out
of the house. W & I went to the
Store & toll house & brought down
a bucket & scuttle of coal. Edwd
rode "Charley" down to Ashton
& back before dinner. W & Fanny
went back to "Fairfield" about
4.o'clock this afternoon.
We all enjoyed our Christmas
dinner, the turkey & plumb pudding
being of the best that could
be. Charley & Ida & their little
ones being the only absent members
of our family, were remembered
& hopes expressed that
they might be having a "merry
Christmas" also.

Wind. S.E. Cloudy. Ther. 19o
SAT. DEC. 26th, 1896.

Not quite so cold and looks
like snow. I went to the store
P.O. & insurance office to see
Allan Farquhar about getting
some more hay, which he promises
to send on Monday next.
Afternoon I went to the toll
house & P.O. also to the mill
for chicken feed. Edward rode
to Ashton to take the "Club
book". I brought another bucket
of coal from the toll house.
John N Johnson was here to
see me. Mrs Robison came in
to see us. After supper Edwd
went to Mrs Ellicott's to a "Eucure
party".
