Wind. Clear. Ther. 18o
THUR. DEC. 3rd, 1896.

Clear & frosty. I went up to
the toll house & store before and
afternoon "tinkered" at the old
coal grate for the Franklin stove.
Afternoon Allan Farquhar's team
brought me 710lbs of rather poor
hay. Frank Robison helped put
it in the Mow. Edwd started to
drive to "Fairfield" & met Willie
coming over here & turned back
this side of "Grove Hill". I went
to the mill for horse feed and
flour. After dark some colored
woman called from Rachael
Thoma's about a grand child
of "Cephus" Holland's. Willie went
back to "Fairfield" before supper.
I wrote to W.J. Bolyn in Washington
about his selling "Frank"
horse for me. Recd letter from
T.H. Borden.

& thawing where the sun shone on
the ground & roofs. I was called
by telephone & drove over to see a
sick child in Warner Cook's house.
It is Saml Foreman's child & I fear
has diptherea. Edwd went with me
& I drove on to "Fairfield" where I
left him to help Willie: he may
remain all night. Recd a letter
from F. Tyson. Went to store and
