T.S.Stabler left after breakfast.
Willie came & took me to "Olney"
to the Election where we both voted
for McKinley & "sound money", it
being the first time either of us
ever voted for any other than a
democratic president, and now
only to defeat a "populist", who is
masquerading as a democrat, but
never has been one. Afternoon I
walked to Ashton & bargained for
a sorrel horse "(Charley)" belonging
to Mary T. Jackson. Eliza B Moore
& Anna B Parker called. I recd.
a letter from Alice Tyson asking
for advice & medicine (from Altoona Pa)
and answered it enclosing
prescription & advice.
The weather has been beautiful
all day until this evening when
it has "clouded up" & looks like
rain.

WED. NOV. 4th, 1896.

The elections yesterday resulted
in the Election of William
McKinley of Ohio as President.
and the triumph of a "Sound
money" financial police" & the
downfall of the "Silver craze ".
I was at the store & P.O. several
times in the course of the day.
We had several sprinkles of rain
and about dusk it commenced
raining as if it might continue
long enough to do some good.
Edith Hallowell called to see
about leaving some material
for a carpet which Willie is to
make for them. I wrote to
Charley by the 2.o'clk mail.
