Frank Snowden came whilst
we were at breakfast to take sister
Harriet to "Ingleside" to spend the
day. Edward drove "Frank" horse
to "Fairfield" & back. Kate Stabler
was here to see Dora. Bro. Charles
called. Charles Snowden (colored)
sent for advice & medicine.
I went to the mill for flour. &
to the store & P.O. Frank Snowden
sent sister H home before supper
time.

Thur. Oct 15th, 1896.

Robt. H. Miller sent us an ox-cart
load of wood (3/4 of a cord.)
(Chestnut). Colored boy was here
from Chas Snowden again.
I changed the front door bell &
fastenings from the Venetian doors
to the inside or panel door. I
also dispensed with the wire
& screen door from outside office
door. Went to the store & P.O.
Dr. Roger Brooke's daughter
"Emily" is to be married this
evening, to a Mr. Robt. Coulter
of Baltimore. Dr. A. Stabler
was here this afternoon
I have suffered all day with
a rather "suspicious" pain in
my breast & side. I applied one
codeine & camphor plaster to
it, which nearly blistered my
side. An organ grinder with a
trained monkey. After supper
Edward walked over to Benj. H. Miller's
I went with him as far as Ashton
to see "Bulwar" again about making
the mouthpiece etc. for the
telephone between our house and
the "central office" next door.
