Thur. Aug 27th, 1896.

Cloudy & threatning rain. I
hitched up the horse to take H &
Dora to make some calls, but it
looked so much like rain we
gave it out. Lizzie Franklin
was here to have her ear dressed
it having been bitten partly off
in a fight with another colored
woman. I walked down to
Ashton & back before dinner
calling at Alcorn's to examine
the boys broken leg. Afternoon
I went up to the store & P.O. Sisters
Harriet & Lizzie called. Rev. Mr
Wm. Laird called & took tea
with us.

Fri. Aug 28th, 1896.

Quite cool this morning.
Cassie Ann Budd was here again
for advice & medicine. Ed Scott
also called to see about having
some sewing done. Afternoon I
rode down to Ashton on horseback.
Thos S Stabler & Willie were here to
supper, & went away together after
tea. Hamilton Budd was here
to see me about some School affairs.
Sister Harriet & Lizzie were
here again this morning.
