Still another hot day. I took
"Frank" horse to Fletcher Clark's
shop & had a new shoe put on
his hind foot & rode him
to Ashton & back before dinner
Afternoon "Old John" was here
for advice & medicine.
I went up to the store & P.O.
several times. The hot weather
is quite hard upon me
James Bond died today
aged about 79 years.

The "harp man" (Nicola Jescarna)
came around & gave us some
good music, it has been some years
since he was here last. I received
a postal card from Edwd telling
of his safe arrival at Charley's
I wrote him in reply. Afternoon
there was a game of Base Ball
"Highland versus Sandy Spring
which resulted 12 to 15 in favor
of "Highland". Willie & Fanny
came about 4.o'clk. This has
been as hot as any of the
others we have had.
