Weather mild & spring like this
morning G. "Watt" Bells daughter
"Bessie" was here & had tooth extracted.
Chas. T. Hill was also
here for advice & medicine for
his wife and son. I drove over to
Unity to see Mrs Baker, calling
at Brighton I took Thomas
S. Stabler with me & left him
there on my return. Edward
re painted my office sign,
which had become defaced
by time & the weather.
We had quite a rain about
4.o'clk this afternoon. After
which the wind changed to
N.W. & it is colder again.
I walked up the the P.O.
after supper, for the mail.

Fri. March 27, 1896

Quite frosty again this morning
I went up to the store before dinner.
Afternoon Thos. S. Stabler was here
Willie & Fanny came & remained
until after supper. Lizzie Scott
called, also Hallie Bentley.
Old John was here for me to see
a notice he had recd. from
the Pensions Bureau, informing
him that his application for
increased pension had been
decided against him.
