This has been an extremely
hot day, but a fine breeze made
it more pleasant except in the
sun. I washed the phaeton
& brought home my buggy tongue
from E Gilpins where it has
been for months, out in the
weather. After supper I sent
Phil on "Frank" to Jno Bentley's
for a bushel of seed potatoes
"Mammoth pearl".

Another scorching hot day, notwithstanding
a nice breeze. I
was anxcious to attend the
meeting of our Medical Society
but was afraid of the
heat. "Uncle Henson" came
to trim the hedge & was here
all day. After supper Mary
Gilpin called. "Carrie"
Hopkin's was here for medicine
for their infant. Alice & Fanny
Peirce went to "Scotts" to paper
a room for them, calling here
as they went home.
