Bro: Chas & cousin Hannah
Chandlee came & leaving his
horse here he drove my horse
"Frank" to Rockville. Cousin,
Hannah going to the Orphan's
Court to settle her mother's
estate etc. they returned in time
to dine with us. I rode down
to Ashton. Afternoon F Grimes
plowed the "rye patch" using
our plow & harrow & one of
their horses. Edwd & I used
The cultivator over the part
of the garden where nothing
is planted yet, to keep down
the weeds. I walked up to the
P.O. & shops after supper.
Edwd went to Hawlings River with
the boys next door to bathe.

I used the "rubber" on the
ground that was plowed yesterday
but did not succeed in getting
it in order. Sent Edwd to
find John to get him to finish
it, he came & borrowed our wheel
barrow. We planted some beans
onions etc. in addition to those
already planted. "Phil" borrowed
"Franke" to ride to Ashton
for medicine for his aunt
Mar. I have not been well
all day having "head ache"
