Cloudy
Ther. 68o Sat. June 3d, 1893 S.E. Wind

Cloudy & foggy. I was called
up about 1,o'clk this a.m again
at 2-30 a.m. on account of
Richd: B Johnson or "Dick Crone"
as he was often called. I sent some
medicine for him, but told them
there was very little hope of his
living, from the account they gave
of his condition: He had drank 8
bottles of "Jamaca Ginger" last evening.
Which produced congestion of
the lungs & spasmodic action of the
heart. he died before the messenger
returned.

Clear & Cloudy
Ther. 74 Sun. June 4th, 1893 Wind

Two of Richd: Procter's daughters
were here before breakfast. "Eliza"
(the youngest) for advice & medicine.
It is extremely hot & close this
morning. Afternoon I walked up to
Henderson's for the papers. Richard
B Johnson was buried in "Friends"
Burying Ground". I walked over to
the funeral which was quite a
large one. His widow seemed very
much distressed & overcome, after
the grave was filled in, creating
some excitement by her cries
& lamentations. Malcom Tyson
called for a few minutes. Towards
evening we had the heaviest thunder
storm we have had this season
so far, with much rain, but no
wind of any consequence: it
has cooled the air very much.
