Quite cold this a.m. there was
some frost, but I hope not enough
to injure the fruit beds. I took
Harriet to Homewood & left her
there whilst I drove on to Edwd
R Stabler's to see my old friend
"Tom" Stabler who is in a sad
mental condition. We heard of
the death of Frederic Paxson who
died at the German Hospital in
Philada on Saturday morning last,
after a surgical operation: he
leaves a wife & four children.
Angelina Thomas called and
paid her mothers bill.
Willie walked over to E Peirces &
talked about going to "Riverside".
before supper. I cleaned out and
"tinkered" up the "pigeons box" or
"dove cote". It has clouded up &
wind S.E. again. looks like more
rain.
