Damp & disagreeable day
trying to clear off towards night
Mrs Elijah Leizear here for
examination & treatment.
After we had done dinner
Ernest & Thoms: H Borden came
having come from Laurel in
time for dinner. after spending
a couple of hours with us
they started for Elton via
"Riverside". After dark I
was called to Gideon Gilpins'
to prescribe for "Anna". We
could hear cannon firing
at intervals all day in honor
of Gen Grants funeral which
took place at "Riverside Park"
in New York today.

Beautiful morning.
I left home at 7-30 a.m.
& drove to "Elton", Charley
having gone up last night
With F Snowden, spent
the day there & got home
just at dusk, and was
obliged to go immediately
down to Wm. S Bond's to
prescribe for his wife
home at 9-15 p.m.
Charley came home with
F Snowden in time for
supper. Dora went to
"Harewood" to stay with
Fanny Stabler who is
alone.
