Warm & close Sarah Stabler
called to see Harriet.
We had the heaviest rain
and thunder gust we have
had so far this season; it
commenced about 11. &
continued until after
three o'clock; the rain
fall was heavy.
Charley came in from the
store after eleven o'clock
Rain continued at intervals
pretty much all through the
night.

Ther. Sun. June 28th, 1885 Wea.

Charley &[...]"Haslup" drove
to Jno: Howard's & to Elton, taking
Fritz & the buggy. leaving here
about 10.o'clk a.m. & returning
at 6.45 p.m. C called at
"Brighton" & brought the elastic
bandage "truss" I had ordered
for his mother. Lizzie Scott
called at the gate for advice
&c. Willie rode around some
on the "bicycle" Charley got
a light leather "fly net" from
Ashton for me, to use on "Fritz"
who suffers more from the flies
than almost any horse I have
ever owned, & a "sheet" that I
had made for him is too warm
in hot close weather.
