Gentlemen;-

I beg to advise that the contractor Mr.Leversedge
informs me that it will be about fifteen days before he will be able to
turn over the new reservoir complete, but that he is willing for us to
put the same in service now until we can make the proper connections
with the Meade reservoir, after which he will then finish the new one

I am of the opinion that the connections should be made as soon as
possible and be ready to place both the old and new reservoir in service
at the earliest possible moment, as the hot weather will be on us in a
few days, and I recommend that if Mr.Leversedge will allow us to place
the new reservoir in service during the time necessary to make the said
connection without such action on part of the city being understood as in
any way an acceptance of the work, and without prejudice to the rights of
either party, that I be permitted to take such action.
