Pforzheimer - Changes, alterations + corrections were made while
the book was passing throught the press, with the result that
not all copies are exactly similar.
The outer forme of sheet R (R^6) in "As You Like It"
is presented in one copy as 2 states. In the earlier, p. 193
is numbered 203+204 is 194; the 1st leaf is signed
R2 instead of R; the names of the speakers, p. 204
1st col. lines 10-12, are confused 'Orl, Clo, (and) Clo'
instead of Clo, WIll, [and] Clo'. In the later states, e.g.
the present, all the above errors are corected.
- "The Foole doth thinke he is wise but the wiseman.
knows himselfe to be a Foole."
- Some 750 copies of the First Folio were printed,
and about a third of these survive mostly incomplete.
The price when complete was probably 20 shillings.
