The plays wer all set in a type of which 20 lines measures
about 83mm. Each page of text is in 2 col. + each col. contains
66 lines plus a 'direction line' at its foot. In the 1st col. this
last line is generally blank: in the 2nd col. it shows the
catchword + whenever one is required the signature.

- Feb. 1622 - printing of 1st folio began.
- folio Quires F-T + 1st sheet of Quire V - April to mid July 1622.
1590 - "Rosalynde" Thomas Lodge - from this pastoral
romance Shakespeare drew most of the incidents + personages
of "As you Like it"He made characteristic additions in Jacques,
Touchstone + Audrey, who are entirely originals. Rosalynde is a
romance in the Euphuistic strain of the time, modelled on
the "Arcadia" of Jacopo Sannazaro (1502).
[inserted] only Pericles of the Cannonical 37 being absent. [end inserted] 1st folio -36 plays - 20 printed for the 1st time. The
volume was edited by Shakespeare's friends + fellw actors
John Heminges + Henry Condell.
